There are several models of the iPod, including the iPod Nano, Shuffle and Touch. Each iPod has its own method of resetting the device without having to connect it to iTunes. Once you have reset the iPod you can access the device again. However, after a reset, most of your content remains but your settings get restored to the iPod's default configuration. Knowing how to reset your iPod comes in handy if it has frozen before or during your company's presentation and you need it to access audio.

Reset iPod Nano

Step 1Connect your iPod Nano to a power source if you have one available.
Step 2Press the Sleep/Wake button and the Volume Down buttons together.
Step 3Hold the buttons down for eight seconds.
Step 4Complete the process again until the iPod resets.

Reset iPod Shuffle

Step 1Slide the switch to "Off."
Step 2Wait five seconds.
Step 3Move the switch until the green stripe appears. This will reset your iPod Shuffle.
Reset iPod Touch

Step 2Swipe from left to right to turn the iPod off. If your iPod doesn't respond, continue to the next step.

President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan will undertake a one-day official visit to Niamey, capital of Niger Republic tomorrow, Tuesday, October 7, 2014 to participate in an Extraordinary Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Lake Chad Basin Commission.
President Jonathan and other participating Heads of State and Government are expected to review ongoing collaboration against terrorism and agree on further joint action to curb terrorism and insurgency within and across their national boundaries.
It will be recalled that President Jonathan and the Heads of State and Government of the neighbouring countries of Niger, Chad, Cameroon and Benin Republic resolved at a meeting in Paris in May this year to intensify joint efforts to curtail terrorism and violent extremism.

At the Paris Summit hosted by President Francois Hollande of France in the aftermath of the dastardly abduction of the Chibok College girls,  President Jonathan and neighbouring heads of state and government also  agreed to establish joint anti-terrorism patrols and a system of sharing  intelligence to support operations against terrorists and other cross-border criminals.

They likewise agreed to create a dedicated team to draw up and advise on the implementation of a regional counter-terrorism strategy under the framework of the Lake Chad Basin Commission.

Benin Republic, which participated in the Paris Summit but is not a member of the Lake Chad Basin Commission, has been invited to the Niamey talks.

The Lake Chad Basin Commission was established in 1964 by Nigeria, Chad, Niger and Cameroon with the mandate of sustainably and equitably managing   shared water resources of the Lake Chad Basin and promoting regional integration, peace and security across the Basin.

President Jonathan who will be accompanied to Niamey by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Aminu Wali, the Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, the Chief Of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshall Alex Barde and other senior government officials will return to Abuja at the conclusion of the one-day summit.

From a female reader

I have fixed my wedding for October here in the UK but I just found out that another lady is pregnant for my fiance back home in Nigeria. She's six months pregnant, due to give birth in October, same month I am getting married. To say that I am devastated is putting it mildly. I am so hurt that I've shut myself from the outside world. I am now so confused as to what to do. He has been begging me since I found out not to cancel the wedding. The pregnant lady actually contacted me via Facebook to tell me she's having my man's baby and when I confronted him, he didn't deny it. I have been with this man for three and a half years and all my family and friends have contributed one way or another to this wedding. The invitations haven't gone out yet, but all our people know the wedding is for October. I am so confused. Should I cancel the wedding? My female friends are telling me not to but surprisingly, my mum wants me to. What should I do?

Today is the 2nd year remembrance of Aluu 4 victims. Two years later and no one has paid for their brutal killing on Friday morning October 5th 2012. We are still hoping that justice will one day be served. Continue to rest in peace, Chidiaka Biringa, Lloyd Michael, Tekena Elkanah and Ugonna

A 42 year old man who allegedly impregnated his 16 year old daughter in Oyo state has been arrested by the state police command. According to Sunday Sun, the JSS 2 student was repeatedly raped by her own father after she'd left her mum and gone to live with him. Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Kola Sodipo said on the night she was first raped, the father had asked the victim to undress, but when she refused and attempted to escape, he threatened her with a cutlass and then raped her.

The 16 year old gave birth to her father's child on September 16th. Continue...

After the act, the raped girl reported what happened to her step mother who didn't do anything about it. Recounting how her ordeal started and what transpired after, the victim told Sunday Sun:
“I was living with my mother until 2013 when my father asked me to come and live with him. On December 25, 2013 my father woke me up and asked me to remove my clothes but I refused. He drew a cutlass and threatened to kill me if I didn’t do his bidding. I removed my clothes and he forcefully had sex with me. He was the first man to sleep with me because I had never had sex before then. I reported the ugly incident to one of his two wives who is a nurse and she promised to ask him but I don’t know whether she asked him or not.
“In March 2014, he did the same thing again and I ran to the house of his second wife and reported to her. She asked me to swear to an oath with the Bible but I refused since I knew I was speaking the truth. I started sleeping in her apartment. In April, he came and asked me to return to his apartment to do some things for him but I refused to go. His second wife, however, put pressure on me to answer my father’s call as he wanted me to do some things for him at home. I followed him after much pressure.
“During Easter celebration on April 18, 2014 he had sex with me again. All this while I didn’t know I was pregnant because I had my last menstruation in December 2013. My stepmother suspected that I was pregnant and took me to a clinic at Igbeti where a test showed I was pregnant.”
“The case was reported at the police station on April 30, 2014 and I started living with my paternal grandfather. I was taken to General Hospital Igbeti, where my mother pleaded with the doctor to abort the pregnancy, but the doctor said he would not do it. After I delivered the baby and my grandmother was told the baby looks like father, my father ran away.”
“When the pregnancy was confirmed, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) and the Divisional Crime Officer (DCO) were the ones who purchased the baby clothes and other things needed. They also paid the hospital bill. I am appealing to the public to come to my assistance and help me finish my education. I am in JSS 2.”
The baby was delivered on September 16, 2014.

The Medical Director of the General Hospital where the baby was delivered advised that a DNA test should be carried out to determine the paternity of the child but said it can't be done until six months after delivery of the baby.

The girl's father has been charged to court. He was remanded in Oyo Prison pending when the case comes up on October 24th.
